Layer Shift

The most common thing causing layer shift are belts that are the wrong tension. Higher speeds put more strain on stuff and layers are more likely to shift wen moving fast.

A belt that is too loose will have the teeth skip on the gear on the steppor motor.

A belt that is too tight will cause the stepper motor to not turn when it should. It will also cause excessive wear on the bearings inside the stepper.
